“Ice In Holes” is the debut album of the “Travel Trip”, an experimental ambient duo. All seven tracks of the album are the result of an improvised project, based on two principles of quantum physics: entanglement and synchronicity. According to its “electro-quantum” character, the electric bass, unconventionally played, and keyboard synth generate fitted loops in live sessions, recorded on the fly. The musical trip begins with an icy atmosphere, and develops a dialogue, moving and crossing over each other, fusing together ambient, jazz, minimal, and microelectronics elements.
The centre of this album is dedicated to Sandy Dennis, an American actress famous in the 1960s , whose voice is used as inspiration for a trip in time other than in space. The title “Ice in Holes” provides a non-standard image to let listeners freely visualize their own ambience, looking for the hidden ”Ace in the Hole”.
